The Fall Tag

Image
Today, I have another tag pertaining to fall (with mentions of Christmas because why not?). I hope you enjoy hearing about some of my traditions!   1. What’s your favorite fall outfit? If it is cold, a sweater and jeans. Most of the time, it is not cold so I just wear a T-shirt, jeans, and a jacket (or cardigan if I am going to church). 2. What is fall weather like where you live? I live in Southern California, so September is still pretty warm. October is warm during the day, but gets colder at night to the point where you need to wear a jacket. November is actually cold, so long-sleeved shirts and jackets are needed. That is unless you are a one of those people who sing "The cold never bothered me anyway." We have a lot of those folks living here. 3. Your favorite drink to have in the fall? I don't have any special drinks for the fall. Obviously, this tag was made to get basic white girls to tell the truth about how much they love pumpkin spice lattes f...

The Language of Worlds Link-Up: May/June 2018

Image
You might notice this beautiful picture above. No, it's not mine; I'm too lazy to make beautiful pictures for all my articles. Liv K. Fisher is hosting this writing link-up since the Beautiful People link-up is ending. It's basically like an ongoing tag that multiple blogs will post about. For those of you who are wondering Beautiful People  was hosted by Cait of Paper Fury and Sky of Further Up & Further In . I will be answering ten questions per link-up about my current WIP (Work in Progress). Although it is September, I wanted to participate in the link-up. I think there will be some more posts during the summer and holiday seasons. I am very sorry for not posting this earlier. I thought that the article would be too short so I waited for the next set of questions and then realized that the article was long enough. I have followed all of the rules above (the links to the posts are in the headings below). I pretty much only write speculative Christia...

Modern Conflicts of Israel

Image
Today's article is hopefully the last one on Israel. Next month, we will move onto introducing Lebanon. But for today, I will be writing about some of the short wars and conflicts that Israel has had since its establishment as a nation-state in May 14, 1948. I have included some maps that you can refer to. You may have noticed that I have some new features on the sidebar. The Book Reviews feature is updated like once a week since I'm on a reading spree. You can also access previous book reviews as well as seeing sneak peeks for new book review articles (which are in an abundance; trust me). The Goodreads feature shows you what I am reading currently. It is also updated very frequently. I would love if you followed my account as well. The Directory categorizes all articles based on series, so you can find all of the articles on Israel and other geography series there. Lastly of all, there is a follower button, and I would really appreciate if you followed my blog at. ...

The New Babylonian Empire ~ Part 3

Image
I can hardly believe it's September already. Today's post is Part 3 about the New Babylonian Empire. Refer to Part 1 and Part 2 about the New Babylonian Empire to refresh your memory. Last time, we left off with Nebuchadnezzar's experiences in the animal kingdom. Well, not exactly. For seven years, Nebuchadnezzar was given the mind of an animal because he continuously glorified himself as the great ruler and builder of his empire. The chapter also indicates that Nebuchadnezzar turned from his gods (whether his false gods or himself) and worshipped the one true God alone. Then the next chapter skips even more time. After Nebuchadnezzar, there were several more kings until King Labashi-Marduk came along. He was overthrown by Nabonidus who angered the pagan priests by saying that the moon god, Sin (I sometimes wonder how they come up with all of these weird names), was above the chief god of the time, Marduk. That's the problem about man-made gods: they are just t...

2018 Summer Highlights

Image
Although I started school at the beginning of this month, I still have to list my summer highlights, like I did last year. There may be some similarities to that article because I tend to do a lot of the same things each summer. Finishing School … And Starting Again for the Last Time Finishing 11th Grade was quite a challenge because of the Plane Geometry and Chemistry courses I took. My schedule also got extremely busy with my two college courses. Everything was even more harder and I have no idea what to expect in 12th grade. Every time I think that school can't get worse, I am unpleasantly surprised by my workload for the year. I was actually really excited to get started on my 12th grade year because I am that type of person. I am going to have an Economics and American Government class, so I am really, really excited for those two. It's my last year of high school, so I will definitely have a breather after that is over. Vacation Bible School My church's ...

2018 Summer Reads ~ Part 2

Image
This is the second part to my 2018 Summer Reads articles. Read the first one at this link . I also have read quite a few books about the Bible. For those books I will not write what I liked/disliked. And other books I won't give a review for; I'll just say whether I recommended it or not. Books Read        The Summary   A Memoir: Barbara Bush   The classic #1 New York Times bestselling memoir, celebrating the life and legacy of First Lady Barbara Bush—now updated with new forewords from her five children, including reflections from George W. and Jeb, as featured on A&E’s Biography . Traditions of Israel

Image
Today's post is about four traditions that mainly Jewish families have followed.. Next time, I will write about some of the modern conflicts of Israel and that might end up being one or two articles long. Circumcision Circumcision is cutting off the foreskin when a baby boy is born. This started with Abraham in Genesis 17. This was a sign that the Hebrew nation would be set apart by God according to his covenant. Because of the New Covenant under Christ, circumcision is no longer necessary, but some families still choose to do so. It does have some health benefits including resistance to certain diseases, but most families do circumcision because of religious beliefs. Shabbat The Jewish Sabbath is mainly on a Saturday, not a Sunday. Christians celebrate Christ's resurrection by gathering together at church on Sunday. Shabbat begins on Friday night which explains why Jesus was taken down from the cross before sundown on Friday night. B ar Mitzvah This is celebrati...
